You’ve probably already noticed that the cameras have been installed! They are now connected to the Internet and ready to view. The user name/password will be placed under your door (not posting it here for privacy reasons!). A few notes:
- One of the long cables broke during installation, that’s why CH1 is now showing a utility room. A new cable is on order and that camera will be installed facing the East carport when Scott gets back from vacation after August 1.
- Cameras are recording in high quality 24/7. The DVR stores about 10 days worth of video.
- All residents have access to view live and recorded footage.
- Live feeds are viewable from popular mobile smart phones (including iPhone)
- Mac users have some limitations—can’t view recorded footage nor all 4 cameras at the same time. This is a limitation of the system and beyond our control.
- If a crime happens Scott and board members (with a Windows computer) have the ability to save recorded footage to a file that can be turned over to the Police.
Tip for iPhone users:
When you bring up the camera for the first time, tap the middle icon (looks like an arrow coming out of a box) and select Add to Home Screen. This will create a shortcut with your apps.
